Delay in development projects not be tolerated: Shafi jan

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Shafi Jan, has issued a stern warning to relevant authorities, directing them to ensure the timely and quality completion of all development projects, stating that any negligence or delay will invite strict action.

He gave these instructions during a review meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Kohat, where Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz Wazir and officers from various departments were present, said a press release.

The meeting reviewed proposed, ongoing, and new development schemes, public welfare initiatives, and the overall performance of departments.

Shafi Jan emphasized that delays in development work would not be tolerated under any circumstances and warned that officers showing poor performance or unnecessary sluggishness would be held accountable.

He said those creating obstacles in the delivery of public services would also face action.

He directed all departments to improve coordination and mutual cooperation so that public issues could be resolved without delay and development work could proceed smoothly.

Expressing displeasure over the slow pace of some projects, he ordered officials to accelerate work on pending schemes and ensure transparency at every level.

He stressed that public interest projects must be completed efficiently and without compromise on quality.

Reaffirming the provincial government’s commitment to fast-track development, Shafi Jan said negligence in welfare-oriented projects was unacceptable and responsible officials would face strict consequences to make the development process more effective and result-oriented.
