ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) The Federal Constitutional Court is set to hear a case concerning the demolition of houses and an anti-encroachment operation in Muslim Colony, Bari Imam, on April 30.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Aamir Farooq will take up the case, which has been formally fixed for hearing.
According to the petition, residents of Bari Imam had initially approached the Islamabad High Court against the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) operation. A single bench of the high court had ordered a halt to the operation.
However, the decision was later suspended by a division bench of the high court, prompting the affected residents to file an appeal before the Federal Constitutional Court.
The court will examine the legal status of the anti-encroachment operation during the hearing of the appeal.
