ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) Director General of Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), Captain (Retd.) Zafar Iqbal, on Tuesday visited the Authority’s ongoing development project in Sectors F-14 and F-15 to review the pace and quality of construction work.
Upon arrival, he was warmly received by senior officials of the National Logistics Cell (NLC) and FGEHA.
The visit was attended by the Deputy Project Director (NLC), along with senior officers of the Housing Authority, including the Chief Engineer, Director Administration, Director (JVP), Director Land, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Project Directors, and Director Technical, along with the technical team.
During the briefing, Deputy Project Director NLC Israr-ul-Haq informed that 147 personnel are currently working at the site. He stated that all culvert construction and rehabilitation works would be completed before the onset of the monsoon season. He further assured that natural water channels (nalas) would remain unaffected and unblocked under all circumstances.
It was also highlighted that special attention was being given at the design stage to ensure smooth water flow and sewerage disposal without obstruction. A separate drainage system is being provided for all streets, while a dedicated rainwater drainage system is also under construction. Comprehensive safety measures, in line with international standards, are being implemented to prevent any emergencies or damage, he briefed.
Regarding road infrastructure, he told the development work is ongoing over an area of approximately 1,200 kanal, with road widths planned at 105 feet. Around 90 percent of earthwork on the main road between Sector F-14 and F-15 has been completed, and it is expected to be finalized by mid-June.
Overall, approximately 65 percent of the main road construction has been completed, with full completion anticipated by 30 June 2026. Development work in Sectors F-14/1 and F-14/2 is expected to commence shortly.
Director Land FGEHA briefed that there were no major issues regarding Built-Up Properties (BUPs) in the current working area. Minor cases are being resolved, and payments will be completed shortly. In this regard, the Land Directorate and the office of the Deputy Commissioner are working in close coordination. Most BUP-related issues in these sectors have already been resolved, which is expected to further accelerate development activities, he told.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Director General reviewed the progress in detail and directed the concerned officials to further expedite the pace of ongoing projects to ensure timely and quality completion. He stated that the Housing Authority would provide 2,000 kanal of land before 15 May 2026.
He emphasized the need to utilize all available resources for efficient completion within the stipulated timeline. The DG further directed that comprehensive weekly progress reports must be submitted regularly to ensure effective monitoring of all development activities. He warned that any delay or negligence would be dealt with strictly and action would be taken against those responsible.
The Director General appreciated the efforts of the NLC team and concerned FGEHA officials and reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to providing improved residential facilities to federal government employees.
