DG Law, Human Rights initiate investigation in attack on humanitarian organization at Nowshera

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) The Directorate General Law and Human Rights taken notice of a complaint regarding attack, vandalism, destruction of valuable property of Green Sheen Foundation, a community welfare and humanitarian organization in Nowshera.

In an office communique issued on Tuesday, the Directorate General Law and Human Rights has directed District Police Officer (DPO) Nowshera to provide the requisite information as deemed necessary for investigation and inquiry in the Human Rights violation.

The action has been taken over a complaint lodged by Akhtar Ayub, Chief Executive Officer, Green Sheen Foundation regarding commission of armed robbery and taking hostage of its security guards by some unknown persons on March 3, 2026, causing the loss of valuable property as well as suspension of its humanitarian activities.

Directorate General Law and Human Rights initiated its investigation into the matter in accordance with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Promotion, Protection and Enforcement of Human Rights Act 2014 as per section 10(6) of the Act.

Deputy Police Officer Nowshera is further directed to take necessary action in the matter with intimation to Directorate General. The department also sought cooperation from all relevant institutions under Human Rights Act 2014.
