LOWER DIR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) The district administration here on Thursday finalized preparations for the anti-polio campaign scheduled to be conducted from May 18 to 21 during a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Wajid Ali Khan.

The meeting reviewed in detail the preparedness for the campaign, with the District Health Officer and N-Stop Officer briefing participants on operational plans and key performance indicators.

It was informed that a total of 303,297 children would be administered polio drops across the district, for which 1,434 teams have been constituted.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner directed officials to ensure strict implementation of the polio micro-plan and emphasized data-driven strategies, including identification of 20 low-performing union councils over the past three years.

He said targeted meetings with stakeholders would be held to devise a coordinated strategy, warning that action would be taken against officials responsible for poor performance.

Special focus was directed towards hard and underserved areas, including Tor Mang, where a support center will be established in a government school to facilitate campaign activities.

Authorities were instructed to strictly follow the rationalization policy and maintain close coordination among departments including police, education, and population welfare.

The meeting also stressed the need for community engagement, particularly in areas with high refusal cases, through awareness campaigns to ensure maximum participation.

It was noted that public cooperation remains essential for the success of the campaign.

Officials were directed to appoint dedicated monitors in low-performing union councils, ensure full coverage by field teams, and deploy staff and security personnel according to area requirements. Comprehensive security arrangements for polio workers during field operations were also emphasized.

Strict adherence to benchmarks was ordered, while a zero-tolerance policy was reiterated against fake finger marking, with disciplinary action to be taken against those involved. Union Council Medical Officers were instructed to enhance monitoring to ensure a high-quality campaign.

The meeting was attended by all relevant stakeholders, while Assistant Commissioners and some participants joined via Zoom in line with the provincial government’s energy conservation policy.
