Gilani calls operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos defining moment in Pakistan’s history

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th May, 2026) Chairman of the Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, on the completion of one year of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, said the day represented a defining moment in Pakistan’s history, demonstrating to the world that the state possesses an unwavering resolve to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and constitutional dignity at every level.

In his special message, he said Maarka-e-Haq was not merely a military success but a practical manifestation of the unity, faith, and steadfast determination of the entire nation.

He said that through Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, the Armed Forces of Pakistan delivered a highly professional, effective, and decisive response to enemy aggression, proving that the country remains fully prepared at all times to defend its territory and its people.

Paying rich tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the motherland, he said their supreme sacrifices are a source of immense pride for the nation. At the same time, the patience and courage of their families deserve the highest appreciation.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani also commended the professionalism, bravery, and sacrifices of the civil and military leadership as well as the security forces.

He added that the youth, media, diplomats, scientists, and engineers also played a commendable role in strengthening the national narrative and reinforcing the country’s defence capabilities.

He further said Maarka-e-Haq teaches that national unity remains Pakistan’s greatest strength. The unanimous stance of the political leadership, the wisdom of the military leadership, and the confidence of the people collectively created the strength needed to overcome every challenge.

The Chairman of the Senate added that Pakistan is a responsible state that priorities peace; however, it will never compromise on its sovereignty and territorial integrity and possesses both the capability and determination to respond effectively to any form of aggression.

He urged the nation to renew its pledge to work collectively for a strong, stable, and dignified Pakistan and always to remember the sacrifices of the martyrs.

He concluded by praying that Allah Almighty may protect Pakistan and grant the nation strength to move forward with unity, resilience, and steadfastness.
