Dog Catching Squad mobilised in Lahore

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Mar, 2026) On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Lahore Captain (R) Muhammad Ali Ijaz, the dog catching squad of the Metropolitan Corporation (MLC) has been mobilised after a girl died due to dog bite in Lahore.

The squad is working under the leadership of MOR Kashif Jalil, who continues uninterrupted field operations in different tehsils.

The team conducted continuous successful operations to protect citizens even during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.

The district administration said that more than 150 stray dogs were caught during the operations, while the squad teams were attacked in which an official was injured and received 8 stitches.

A case has also been registered in this incident.

On the other hand, the Deputy Commissioner has directed that the field campaign against stray dogs should be further intensified in all tehsils and public complaints should be redressed immediately, especially immediate action should be taken on complaints received through the helpline and social media.

In addition, the district administration has said that citizens can call the helpline 112233-0800 or contact the social media pages of the municipality to complain about stray dogs.

It should be noted that a few days ago, a young girl died due to dog bite in Lahore.
