DPO notices handcuffed inmates transported in public van sans security

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) District Police Officer has taken notice after handcuffed prisoners were transported to court in a public passenger van without proper police security.

According to a police spokesman, Rohelanwali police had seated six handcuffed inmates among passengers in a public transport vehicle while bringing them for a court appearance at Muzaffargarh.

The sole security official assigned to escort the prisoners followed the van on a motorcycle rather than travelling with the detainees.

The incident came to light after a video went viral, prompting DPO Muzaffargarh Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah to seek a report from the SDPO Saddar Circle. on the security lapse.

The spokesman said the DPO had sought a detailed report on the violation of security standard operating procedures, warning that departmental action would be taken against personnel found responsible.
