DPO orders general hold-up to ensure public safety

GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Apr, 2026) On the directives of District Police Officer(DPO) Rana Umar Farooq a general hold-up was conducted across the district to maintain law and order and prevent criminal activities,police said on Wednesday.

According to a spokesperson,checkpoints were established at all entry and exit points,major highways and crime prone areas under the jurisdiction of local police stations.

Station House Officers (SHOs),post in-charges and police personnel remained present in their respective areas throughout the operation.

Vehicles,motorcycles and suspicious individuals were thoroughly checked and verified with the aim of monitoring criminal movement,preventing crime and enhancing public safety.

The DPO directed officers to remain courteous and respectful towards citizens and urged the public to cooperate with the police in maintaining peace and order.
