DSP succumbs to injuries after raid in Mustafa Amir murder case

DIG South says DSP Ahsan Zulfiqar was critically injured after coming under fire while conducting a raid at the residence of prime suspect Armughan  

KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 24th, 2026) A senior police officer injured during a raid in the high-profile Mustafa Amir murder case has succumbed to his wounds, the officials confirmed on Tuesday.

The DIG South said that DSP Ahsan Zulfiqar was critically injured after coming under fire while conducting a raid at the residence of prime suspect Armughan.

The officer had been under treatment at a private hospital for an extended period but passed away during treatment.

The case relates to the murder of Mustafa Amir, who went missing from the Defence area of Karachi on January 6, 2025. His body was recovered from Hub on February 14, 2025.

The police investigations revealed that the victim was allegedly tortured by his childhood friends before being placed in a vehicle and set on fire.

The authorities have already indicted the accused, including Armughan and Sheraz while further legal proceedings are ongoing.
