Effective traffic law enforcement essential for road safety, says CPO Hamdani

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani on Monday stressed the importance of effective enforcement of traffic laws to ensure road safety and improve traffic discipline across the city during his visit to the Traffic Headquarters Rawalpindi.

The CPO was warmly welcomed by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi and other senior police officials. All circle in-charges of City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi were also present during the visit.

During his visit, the CPO inspected various branches of the Traffic Headquarters and issued directions aimed at further improving operational efficiency and public service delivery.

CPO Hamdani also visited FM 88.6, the traffic police radio station, where he interacted live with citizens and listened to their concerns and feedback regarding traffic management and policing services.

Recognizing exceptional performance, the CPO awarded commendation certificates to officers and personnel for their dedicated services during cricket matches, Eid-ul-Azha and other major events.

Addressing the officers, Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani said that the Traffic Police represents the positive and public-facing image of Punjab Police. He urged personnel to uphold self-accountability, sincerity and complete faith in Allah Almighty, emphasizing that these values are key to success.

The CPO directed all officials to perform their duties with honesty and strictly in accordance with the law. He encouraged officers to adopt hard work, integrity, commitment to duty and lawful earning as guiding principles in their professional lives.

Reiterating the importance of professional policing, he directed traffic personnel to ensure effective enforcement of traffic laws during duty hours, saying that strict implementation of rules is vital for maintaining road safety and orderly traffic flow in the city.
