Eid 2nd day marked by festivities, family gatherings in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Mar, 2026) The second day of Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday continued to witness vibrant celebrations across the city as residents enthusiastically participated in recreational activities, family gatherings and social visits, keeping the festive spirit alive.

A large number of citizens thronged parks, recreational spots and restaurants along with their families and friends to celebrate the occasion in a joyful manner. Various parts of the city remained lively throughout the day, while homes echoed with warmth and hospitality as people exchanged visits and hosted traditional Eid feasts.

Children were seen enjoying swings and spending their Eidi, while youth actively took part in different leisure activities. Families also relished a variety of traditional dishes, fast food and ice cream, further adding to the festive atmosphere at public places.

Major parks and recreational areas of the city remained packed with visitors from morning till evening, where people of all ages celebrated the pleasant weather and shared moments of happiness with their loved ones.

Talking to APP, senior citizen Muhammad Ramzan said that Eid-ul-Fitr was a great blessing from Almighty Allah following the completion of the holy month of Ramazan. He said the occasion not only held religious significance but also strengthened bonds of love, unity and family relationships.

He emphasized that the underprivileged should also be included in Eid celebrations.

A young citizen, Majid Chaudhry, said Eid was a day of joy and gratitude after a month of fasting and worship. He added that according to Islamic teachings, Eid was not only meant for celebration but also reflected the spirit of sacrifice, compassion and brotherhood. He said Fitrana played an important role in sharing happiness with deserving people.

Meanwhile, Rawalpindi Police made comprehensive security arrangements across the district to ensure peaceful celebrations. According to a police spokesperson, more than 6,000 officers and personnel were deployed at various duty points to maintain law and order.

Security was further tightened around major roads, parks, mosques and markets, while over 800 traffic wardens were deployed to ensure smooth traffic flow and assist commuters. Special pickets were also set up to prevent one-wheeling and other dangerous activities.

Elite Force, Dolphin Force, Ladies Police and Mohafiz Squad remained active in the field and conducted regular patrols to ensure public safety. Rescue 1122 teams were also kept on high alert and stationed at different locations to respond promptly to any emergency situation.

Citizens overall expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and celebrated the second day of Eid-ul-Fitr with joy, harmony and a spirit of tolerance.
