Eid-ul-Adha security plan finalized, over 10,000 police personnel to be deployed across Hazara Division

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) More than 10,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed across Hazara division to ensure foolproof security during Eid-ul-Adha, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hazara Nasser Mahmood Satti said while chairing a meeting here Thursday to finalize the region’s comprehensive security plan.

The DIG stated that the deployment would include district police, Elite Force, Special Security Unit (SSU), traffic wardens, Special Branch, reserve police and lady police to maintain peace and security at Eidgahs, mosques, Imambargahs, bazaars, cattle markets, tourist spots, and other sensitive locations across the division.

He reviewed security arrangements prepared by District Police Officers (DPOs) and directed enhanced deployment at all key public places to ensure a safe and peaceful environment during Eid. He further ordered for strict monitoring through district Command and Control Rooms, instructing that CCTV surveillance be used to keep a close watch on cattle markets, major highways, Eidgahs, and sensitive installations to immediately respond to any suspicious activity.

DIG Satti emphasized that all police personnel must perform their duties with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring quick response and maximum facilitation for citizens.

He also directed for taking action against illegal cattle markets in coordination with district administrations, stating that sacrificial animal trade must remain limited to officially designated points to avoid traffic congestion.

He issued special instructions for taking strict action against pickpockets and criminal elements in cattle markets, while ordering additional arrangements for the safety of women, children and elderly citizens. To manage traffic flow, additional traffic personnel have already been deployed on major highways and tourist routes, with traffic wardens instructed to guide citizens and tourists politely, avoid unnecessary challans, and ensure smooth traffic movement, he said.

The DIG further ordered for enhanced security at sensitive installations, development projects and key locations, along with strict checking at entry and exit points of all districts.

He also urged the citizens to remain vigilant during Eid and report any suspicious activity to police immediately to help maintain peace and order through joint public cooperation.
