Eid-ul-Azha celebrated in Rawalpindi with religious fervour

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) Like the other parts of the country, Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated in Rawalpindi with religious zeal, devotion and a traditional spiritual atmosphere.

Large Eid congregations were held at mosques, Imambargahs, and open grounds across the city, where special prayers were offered for the country’s security, stability, progress, the success of the Pak Armed Forces, the elevation of the ranks of martyrs, and the unity and solidarity of the Muslim Ummah.

Eid prayers were offered at scheduled timings in central mosques, Eidgahs, and open venues. Following the Eid prayers, the ritual of animal sacrifice began across the city in accordance with the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).

Comprehensive security arrangements were made by Rawalpindi Police to ensure the protection of citizens and maintain a peaceful environment during Eid-ul-Azha.

More than 3,700 police officers and personnel were deployed across the city while special security duties were performed at 736 mosques, 62 Imambargahs, and 60 open prayer venues.

Strict monitoring, checking, and patrolling arrangements remained in place around important places of worship and Eid congregations to allow citizens to perform their religious obligations peacefully.

On the occasion, the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) launched a special cleanliness operation to ensure the timely disposal of animal waste and maintain sanitation across the city. Staff, machinery, and waste collection teams remained active in different areas, while immediate measures were taken to remove offal and provide a clean environment for residents.
