Exports reach $22.731 bln in 9 months

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) The country’s merchandise exports reached to $22.731 billion during the first nine months (July–March) of the current fiscal year (2025–26), Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported on Thursday.

According to the PBS data, the exports showed a decline of 8.04 percent when compared to exports of $24.718 billion during July–March of last fiscal year (2024–25).

On the other hand, imports into the country increased by 6.64 percent, rising from $47.388 billion last year to $50.536 billion during July–March (2025–26).

Based on the figures, the trade deficit during the first nine months was recorded at $27.

805 billion against the deficit of $22.670 billion last year, showing an increase of 22.65 percent.

Meanwhile, on year-on-year basis, the exports in March 2026 decreased by 14.40 percent to $2.264 billion compared to $2.645 billion in March 2025.

The imports also witnessed a decrease of 5.37 percent, from $5.278 billion to $4.995 billion during the same period.

On a month-on-month basis, the exports from the country witnessed a nominal decline of 0.55 percent when compared to $2.276 billion during February 2026.

The imports also decreased by 5.57 percent compared to $5.290 billion in February 2026, PBS reported.
