FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh said on Monday that Pakistan’s economic future was directly linked with Faisalabad as no viable economic policy could be formulated or implemented effectively without

addressing the city’s needs.

During a meeting with Ms. Nausheen Jafri Business Executive Officer of Nestlé Professional,

he highlighted the importance of exploiting Faisalabad industrial and commercial potential

at national and international levels.

He appreciated Nestlé’s contribution to Pakistan’s economy particularly its provision

of quality food and safe drinking water, adding that Nestlé products including bottled

water are also being used at the chamber.

He said that another meeting would be arranged with Nestlé to formalize cooperation

through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to ensure structured and sustained

collaboration.

The FCCI Chief said the chamber had already signed MoUs with more than 60 institutions

and brands, benefiting FCCI members and partner organizations. The chamber had

a membership of over 22,000, representing 128 different trades, sectors and sub-sectors

of the economy, he added.

He said that FCCI serves as a vital link between the government and the private sector

while actively working to resolve issues faced by its members.

Highlighting Faisalabad’s industrial strength, he said that this city contributes

around 60 percent to total national textile exports.

He further said that with increasing industrial diversification, the Faisalabad Industrial

Estate Development & Management Company (FIEDMC) had attracted major investments

including an assembly line of Hyundai vehicles, along with Turkish and Chinese companies

producing ceramics, dairy and pharmaceutical products using state-of-the-art technology.

The FCCI President announced that Faisalabad chamber would organize a “Made in Faisalabad Expo”

in Lahore from May 08 to 10 to promote local products at national and international levels.

He said that invitations had been extended to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to inaugurate

the event and to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to attend the closing ceremony

while foreign ambassadors and international guests are also expected to participate in it.

He urged Nestlé to extend its cooperation for the success of this expo.

Earlier, Ms. Nausheen Jafri introduced Nestlé Professional, stating that its head office

was located in Lahore and expressing pride in supporting the Made-in-Faisalabad Expo.

She said that her participation in the Gulf food exhibition every year had revealed that

Pakistan was producing a wide range of high-quality products that were gaining popularity

in global markets.

Nestlé, as a global company, manufactures internationally standardized products tailored

to local community needs and was also playing a significant role in job creation, she added.

Later, Senior Vice President FCCI Naveed Akram Sheikh thanked the guests while FCCI

President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh presented shields and souvenirs to Ms. Nausheen Jafri

and Muhammad Hassan Khan.

Vice President FCCI Engineer Asim Munir and other business community members also
