Fans allowed to witness playoffs in stadium

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that the cricket fans will be allowed to watch all playoff games inside stadium in Karachi and Lahore in the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League 11

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that the cricket fans will be allowed to watch all playoff games inside stadium in Karachi and Lahore in the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League 11.

Last Friday, the PCB Chairman had sought permission from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to allow fans witness their cricketing heroes in action for the final of the PSL at Gaddafi stadium on May 3 (Sunday). The whole of the PSL 11 was played behind closed doors as the Pakistan government had decided to adopt austerity measures in the wake of energy crisis due to the ongoing US-Israel-Iran war.

The decision came in the wake of Naqvi’s meeting with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif during which he requested that the fans be allowed to watch playoffs as well and the wish was granted.

In a social media post on X, Naqvi wrote, “Just had a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and I’m pleased to share that we have secured his approval for public attendance in all three PSL playoff matches as well.

However, this comes with an important condition from his side that fans are strongly encouraged to use public transport or minimize fuel consumption while attending the matches, in line with the ongoing national austerity efforts. He also conveyed his best wishes to all four teams competing in the PSL playoffs.

Looking forward to some exciting and entertaining cricket ahead.”
