Pakistan urged the international community to advise India to adopt a responsible approach.
ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office (FO) has strongly rejected what it described as baseless attempts by India to link the Pahalgam incident with Pakistan.
In a statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that at a time when Pakistan is actively engaging with international partners to promote peace and stability in the region and beyond, India’s propaganda campaign is regrettable and irresponsible.
The spokesperson said that India is attempting to promote a false narrative for domestic political gains despite ongoing regional tensions.
He added that after receiving an effective response under “Operation Bunyan al-Marsous” last year, India is once again trying to divert attention through allegations.
The statement further said that such tactics cannot shift global attention away from India’s alleged illegal actions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the continued denial of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, as outlined in United Nations resolutions.
The Foreign Office also accused India of undermining regional peace through provocative statements, aggressive posturing, and unilateral actions such as the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty.
Pakistan urged the international community to advise India to adopt a responsible approach and refrain from steps that could threaten regional and global peace efforts.
