Full-Proof security arrangements made by Karachi Police for main Ashura procession in Karachi

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) The Karachi Police have made full-proof security arrangements to ensure peaceful envorionment for the mourners on the occasion of the Central Ashura Procession taken out on 10th Muharram al-Haram 1448 A.H, here on Friday.

Around 6,843 police officers and personnel have been deployed to ensure the security of the central procession on 10th Muharram al-Haram, on the directives of Additional Inspector General Karachi, Syed Aazad Khan, said a spokesperson of Karachi Police.

Among the officials and personnel, 1,016 traffic policemen and 157 lady police officers are also deployed.

For the surveillance and effective response of the central procession, 182 police vehicles, including mobile units, APCs (Armored Personnel Carriers), motorcycles, and other official vehicles have been deployed at various locations.

Special arrangements have been made along the procession routes, including the deployment of snipers, reserve forces, plainclothes officers, bomb disposal squads, search and sweep operations, snap checking, and effective traffic management.

Continuous monitoring is also being carried out through CCTV cameras from the Command and Control Center to promptly handle any emergency situation.

Karachi Police remains fully alert and vigilant to ensure the protection of citizens' lives and property and to guarantee the peaceful observance of Muharram ul-Haram.
