SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Shoaib Mirza on Friday visited Sargodha on Ashura day on the directives of Chief Minister(CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif to review security and administrative arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.
The delegation visited the District Control Room,where Deputy Commissioner(DC),Hussain Ahmed Raza Choudhry and DPO Muhammad Suhaib Ashraf briefed them on security arrangements,monitoring mechanisms and contingency plans for processions and religious gatherings.
Commissioner Sargodha Hafiz Shoukat Ali and RPO Sargodha Region Shehzad Asif Khan also accompanied the officials.
The minister and special assistant reviewed live monitoring of procession routes and inspected surveillance cameras, communication systems and control room operations.
They were briefed on the number and categories of processions and majalis,designated routes,timings,sensitive points and cyber monitoring arrangements.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Officials informed the delegation about facilities being provided along procession routes,including mobile and fixed sabeels, clinic-on-wheels services,mist spray machines,water sprinkling arrangements and mobile washrooms.
The visiting officials directed authorities to ensure uninterrupted monitoring of processions and gatherings to maintain law and order.
They also appreciated the role of peace committees in promoting inter-sect harmony.
Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements,Khawaja Salman Rafique and Shoaib Mirza lauded the efforts of all departments engaged in Muharram duties and conveyed the appreciation of Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The deputy commissioner also briefed the delegation on the ongoing city beautification initiatives, which were appreciated by the visiting officials.
Additional deputy commissioners,assistant commissioners and other relevant officers were also present.
