Ghazi Week being observed to honor sacrifices of injured cops

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Mar, 2026) In line with the directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani chaired a meeting with ‘Ghazi’ police officers and personnel at the Police Headquarters here Saturday, as part of the ongoing “Ghazi Week” being observed across Punjab Police.

The initiative aimed to acknowledge and honor the services and sacrifices of police officers who were injured in the line of duty, particularly during encounters involving bomb blasts, terrorism, and dangerous criminal elements.

Senior officers, including the SSP Operations and SSP Investigation, attended the meeting.

The participants were included officers and personnel who sustained injuries while bravely confronting terrorists and hardened criminals.

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani engaged directly with the Ghazi personnel, inquiring about their welfare and challenges.

He issued directives to the concerned officers to address their issues and ensure their timely resolution.

CPO Hamdani paid tribute to the courage and dedication of the injured personnel. “You are a shining example of determination and bravery for all of us.

He further added that such brave officers are a valuable asset to Rawalpindi Police, and their welfare will always remain a top priority.

The CPO emphasized that officers injured in counter-terrorism operations are regarded as heroes, and the department stands firmly with them at every step.

He reiterated that comprehensive measures are being taken, in line with the IG Punjab’s vision, to ensure the welfare and continued support of Ghazi police personnel.
