Gilani condemns Bannu blast, expresses solidarity with victims’ families

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday strongly condemned the bomb blast near Police Station Miryan in Bannu.

In a statement, he expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of those martyred in the explosion, saying he shared their grief in this hour of sorrow.

The Senate chairman prayed that Allah Almighty may grant the martyrs the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and bestow patience and fortitude upon their families to bear this irreparable loss.

He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and directed the relevant authorities to ensure the provision of the best possible medical treatment to those wounded in the incident.

Gilani said such cowardly acts of terrorism could not weaken the nation’s resolve. He emphasized that collective efforts would continue until the complete eradication of terrorism from the country.

He also paid tribute to the sacrifices of law enforcement agencies and appreciated their continued efforts in maintaining peace and security across the country.
