SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) The Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) has launched a state-of-the-art Rapid Response Emergency Center (RRC) to strengthen critical care services in Sindh, officials said on Friday.
The Center, established under the supervision of GIMS Director Dr Raheem Bux Bhatti, includes a 12-bed fully equipped Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with advanced ventilators to manage trauma, surgical and medical emergencies round the clock.
According to GIMS Director, the RRC will provide multiple facilities under one roof, including 24-hour emergency and surgical services, ambulance service, CT scan, X-ray, ECG, FAST ultrasound, fully equipped operating rooms, a resuscitation room with crash trolleys, and a dedicated surgical short-stay ward.
He said the facility aims to ensure timely, life-saving care for critically ill patients completely free of cost.
The Rapid Response Emergency Center is a major step forward in emergency and critical care in the region, an official statement said and adding that it would significantly reduce delays in treatment of trauma and emergency cases.
