Government decides to launch "Punjab Dharti Rang" project

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) The Government of Punjab on Friday decided to launch the “Punjab Dharti Rang” project to promote cultural heritage across the province,official sources said.

According to details,Rs.3 billion will be spent on the project over the next three years,while the scheme will be included in the upcoming provincial budget.

Under the initiative,cultural committees will be formed at the district level and traditional fairs will be promoted across Punjab.

Officials said special focus will be given to cultural and religious events, including Basant and Mela Chiraghan.

They added that youth will be engaged in arts, crafts and cultural activities, while local talent will be showcased through festivals,exhibitions and competitions.

The project also includes training and skill development program for artists and craftsmen.
