DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th May, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor on Thursday extended heartfelt congratulations to the nation and the armed forces on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer, saying the daya was being celebrated across the country with great enthusiasm and national spirit.
In his special message, the governor said the foundation of Pakistan’s nuclear programme was laid by Quaid Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who had taken the historic stance that, “We will eat grass, but we will not compromise on the nuclear program.”
Faisal Karim Kundi further said that Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto Shaheed provided Pakistan with missile technology and further strengthened the country’s defence.
He said that the former prime minister also played a key role in strengthening the country’s missile technology, adding that Pakistan’s defence capabilities were the result of visionary political leadership and sacrifices rendered for national security.

Marka-e-Haq was achieved through unity between the political and military leadership, while the armed forces’ victory against India reflected the country’s strong defence system.

The governor further said that international appreciation for Pakistan and the field marshal was recognition of the country’s peaceful approach and diplomatic efforts.
Referring to ongoing diplomatic engagements, he said facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran in Islamabad was a significant achievement for Pakistan.
He added that the field marshal, along with the president, prime minister and political leadership, was actively working for global peace.
Governor Kundi expressed optimism that a major international peace agreement would eventually be reached on Pakistani soil.
