KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) Governor of Sindh Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi participated in the main Youm-e-Ashura procession and met with the mourners here on Friday.

Later, talking to the media, the Sindh Governor stated that the great sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S), and the martyrs of Karbala would remain a shining beacon of truth, honesty, patience, steadfastness, and sacrifice until the Day of Judgment.

He said that Youm-e-Ashura taught us the lesson that one must never hesitate to sacrifice one's life, wealth, and everything else for the cause of truth and righteousness. Every Muslim should draw guidance from the exemplary life of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S) for the exaltation of the religion and the message of truth brought by the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).

The Governor of Sindh stated that corruption, injustice, oppression, moral deviation, and supporting those who usurp the rights of others were contrary to the teachings of Imam Hussain (A.S). Regardless of the circumstances, a Muslim must always stood by truth, justice, and righteousness.

Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi remarked that on Youm-e-Ashura, the people of Sindh, including Karachi, displayed exemplary discipline, unity, and inter-faith harmony, which was highly commendable.

He noted that the people of Sindh were striving to understand the message of Hazrat Imam Hussain's (A.S) great sacrifice with devotion and respect, and are endeavoring to implement it in their practical lives.

He added that the message of Karbala was not confined to mere words; rather, it was about standing up for truth, justice, and the oppressed in practical life. Even after the passage of 1400 years, the message of Karbala remained the same : truth never bows its head before wealth, power, bribery, or corruption.

The Governor of Sindh further stated that true power lied in the obedience of Allah Almighty, the teachings of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), the establishment of truth and justice, and serving the poor and the helpless.

He expressed his resolve that propagating the message of Imam Hussain (A.S) in society with unity, brotherhood, and inter-faith harmony is the need of the hour.

He concluded by saying that anyone in the world who stood up for truth, justice, and righteousness was a standard-bearer of the Hussaini ideology.

Quoting the saying, "islam remains alive after every Karbala," he emphasized that they must move forward with that very same Hussaini ideology, character, and spirit of sacrifice.
