Governor Sindh pays rich tribute to workers on Labour Day

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi paid rich tribute to the working class, stating that labourers are the backbone of the country’s economic growth and prosperity, and their services cannot be overlooked.

On the occasion of Labour Day, the Governor said that islam describes a worker as a friend of Allah, therefore due respect must be given to their hard work.

He further noted that labour and hard work are a Sunnah of the Prophets and a source of blessings. He added that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized the importance of paying workers their due wages promptly and in full.

Governor Sindh underlined that the protection of workers’ rights and their welfare remains a top priority of the government. He said that providing healthcare, education, and social protection to workers is the fundamental responsibility of the state.

He further stated that the labour force plays a key role in the industrial and economic development of Sindh. Labour Day serves as a reminder of solidarity with workers and a renewed commitment to safeguarding their rights.
