Governor Sindh visits Mazar-e-Quaid, calls for national unity and progress

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Mar, 2026) Governor Sindh Nehal Hashmi visited Mazar-e-Quaid on Pakistan Day, where he was received by Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah along with provincial cabinet members and senior officials.

The Governor laid a wreath at the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation and offered Fateha, said a news release on Monday.

The ceremony was attended by provincial ministers, the Sindh Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police and other high-ranking officials.

Special prayers were offered for the country’s progress, stability and prosperity.

The Governor also recorded his impressions in the visitors’ book.

Speaking to media on the occasion, Nehal Hashmi said the foundations laid by the nation’s forefathers continued to guide the country towards its destination.

He stressed the need for economic and political stability, adding that a renewed resolve should be made to take Pakistan to new heights of development by 2040.

He expressed pride in his association with the political legacy of former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and emphasised that strengthening the country remained a collective responsibility, urging political forces to avoid discord.

The Governor said the incumbent Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had directed efforts to accelerate development in Sindh, assuring that no stone would be left unturned for the province’s progress and prosperity.
