Hazara Division to witness rain, thunderstorms from June 2 to 5; PDMA issues alert

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jun, 2026) The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather advisory warning of rain-wind and thunderstorm activity across the Hazara Division from June 2 to 5, 2026.

According to the advisory, districts including Abbottabad, Mansehra, Battagram, Upper and Lower Kohistan are likely to receive scattered rain accompanied by thunderstorms, with chances of isolated heavy falls and hailstorms during the forecast period.

PDMA has cautioned that the weather system may trigger landslides in vulnerable mountainous areas of Hazara, particularly in Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Kohistan regions.

Windstorms and lightning could also damage weak structures, crops, and roadside installations.

Authorities have directed local administrations to remain on high alert, ensure clearance of roads, monitor streams and nullahs, and take precautionary measures in tourist and high-risk areas. Rescue and emergency services have been instructed to stay fully prepared to respond to any untoward situation.

Tourists and residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from riverbanks and landslide-prone areas, and strictly follow safety instructions during the forecast period.
