Hazrat Imam Hussain’s sacrifice a universal symbol of selflessness

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) Provincial leader of Pakistan Muslim League Functional, Syed Shafqat Ali Shah has said the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions, including children and women, stands as a symbol of universality and selflessness unmatched in the entire history of mankind.

In his statement on Youm-e-Ashura, he said that even after 14 centuries, the memory of this great sacrifice by the family of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) has played a key role in shaping human consciousness and strengthening humanity’s struggle for truth, justice, and freedom.

"Imam Hussain (RA) remains a beacon of patience, forbearance, and resistance against oppression for people suffering under tyranny and force. His example keeps the lamp of hope burning in the darkness,” Shafqat Ali Shah added.

He prayed that Allah Almighty grant us the ability to learn from the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (RA) and move forward with courage, steadfastness, and bravery.
