Mohammad Amir was found guilty under Article 2.5 of PSL Code, which relates to use of inappropriate language, gestures, or actions that may be considered provocative towards a dismissed batter

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 24th, 2026) Rawalpindi pacer Mohammad Amir and Islamabad United all-rounder Faheem Ashraf have been fined 10 percent of their match fees for violating HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 Code of Conduct during Match 34 at the National Bank Stadium on Thursday.

The official proceedings made it clear that Amir was found guilty under Article 2.5 of the PSL Code, which relates to the use of inappropriate language, gestures, or actions that may be considered provocative towards a dismissed batter.

Faheem Ashraf was penalised under Article 2.21 for conduct that brought the game into disrepute.

Both players accepted the charges presented by on-field umpires Alex Wharf and Faisal Khan Aafreedi and agreed to the sanctions imposed by match referee Sir Richard Richardson.

The incident took place during the 17th over when Amir bowled a slower bouncer to Faheem Ashraf, who attempted an upper-cut shot but edged the ball to wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan.

Following the dismissal, Amir reacted with an animated celebration and gestured towards the batter, appearing to signal him towards the pavilion. Faheem responded angrily and moved towards the bowler with his bat raised, leading to a brief confrontation before players intervened and defused the situation.

On the points table, Rawalpindi continue to struggle, sitting at the bottom with just one win in nine matches. The side has collected two points and holds a net run rate of -1.330.

They are scheduled to play their final league-stage match against Hyderabad Kingsmen on April 26.
