Heavy rain, storm disrupt power supply on 159 PESCO feeders

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th May, 2026) Power supply from 159 feeders was suspended across the region due to heavy rain and storm, according to a spokesperson for Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO).

The spokesperson said that 41 feeders were affected in Peshawar Circle, 21 in Mardan, 13 in Khyber, 53 in Swabi, and 31 feeders in Swat Circle.

PESCO teams are actively engaged in restoration work, while the situation is being directly monitored from the control room, the spokesperson added.

On the directives of PESCO Chief Akhtar Hameed Khan, operation teams have been placed on high alert to ensure early restoration of electricity supply.

The spokesperson further said that all necessary equipment has been provided to the operation teams for prompt restoration efforts. PESCO Chief Akhtar Hameed Khan also directed field staff to observe special caution during rain and ensure all safety measures are strictly followed.
