HESCO urged police lodge FIR over DSP for power theft

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) has requested Hyderabad police to register an FIR against an incumbent Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) for his alleged theft of electricity for domestic usage.

A team of HESCO here on Sunday also severed multiple connections of DSP Syed Saeed Muhammad Shah's house in Muslim Society Qasimabad which were directly hooked to an electricity pole.

A team led by Executive Engineer Qasimabad Subdivision of HESCO Asad Pirzada visited cut off the DSP's illegal connections as part of an ongoing drive against power theft.

In his letter to the SHO of Qasimabad police station, a SDO of HESCO requested for registration of an FIR against the DSP.

The complainant claimed that Shah's house had also defaulted payment of Rs1.268 million arrears to HESCO.
