Hot and dry weather to dominate; isolated rain expected in upper regions on Saturday

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) Predominantly hot and dry weather is expected across most parts of the country on Saturday, with chances of isolated rain-windstorm and thunderstorms in upper regions, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department(PMD).

The upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are likely to experience partly cloudy conditions with isolated rain and gusty winds.

In the Federal capital Islamabad, hot and dry weather is expected to persist.

Across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts will remain hot and dry. However, upper districts including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Malam Jabba, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Bajaur, Khyber and Parachinar may witness partly cloudy weather with isolated rain-wind and thunderstorms.

In Punjab, plain areas are expected to remain hot and dry, while Murree and Galliyat may receive light rain accompanied by thunderstorms.

Sindh will continue to experience hot and dry conditions, whereas Balochistan is likely to remain dry, with temperatures staying high in southern districts.

Partly cloudy weather with isolated light rain-wind and thunderstorms is also forecast for Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Over the past 24 hours, partly cloudy conditions prevailed in upper parts of the country, while plains remained hot. Light rain-wind and thunderstorms were recorded at isolated locations in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, southern Punjab, Kashmir, northern Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The highest maximum temperatures were recorded at 45C in Bahawalnagar, Khairpur, Dadu and Larkana. In Islamabad, temperatures ranged between 20C and 36C, while Lahore recorded 25C to 41C and Karachi 26C to 34C.
