Hot weather forecast for Sindh, heatwave likely in upper, central parts

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) The Meteorological Department, Tuesday, forecast hot and dry weather in most districts of Sindh during the next 24 hours while the Early Warning Center has issued a heatwave alert for central and upper parts of the province.

According to the met office, hot and dry weather is expected in most districts of the province on Wednesday while dust-raising or gusty winds are expected in central and southern districts during afternoon.

The met office, in a separate statement earlier, has informed that observational data showed rise in temperatures in these areas which were recorded 02 to 04 C above normal range. It warned that mild heat wave conditions were likely to develop in southern parts of the country from 29 April to 03 May.

Meanwhile, the Heat Wave Early Warning Center of the meteorological department added that heatwave conditions are likely in central and upper parts of Sindh till 03 May 2026. Under its influence the daytime maximum temperatures are likely to raise 4 to 6C above normal in Jamshoro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Kashmore, Ghotki, Sanghar, Khairpur, Naushehro Feroz, Jacobabad, Larkana and Sukkur districts.

The center, in the alert, advised the general public especially children, women and senior citizens to take precautionary measures and avoid exposure to direct sunlight during the day time and stay hydrated.

Farmers are also advised to manage their crop activities including wheat harvesting while keeping in view the weather conditions and take care of their livestock as well.
