HSATI says free, responsible media indispensable for society

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day has underlined the need of a free and responsible media in the society because journalism also highlighted problems of the industries and suggested resolutions as well.

The HSATI's Chairman Zubair Ghangra in a statement issued here on Sunday said media played an effective role in policy making and problem solving.

He added that the industries of Hyderabad SITE area were still facing several challenges, including lack of infrastructure, electricity and gas problems, unavailability of water, regulatory hurdles and other administrative difficulties.

He credited the city's media for continuously highlighting those problems and for drawing attention of the government and related institutions.

Ghangra underscored that in a responsible state, journalists should not only be given freedom of expression but they should also be provided with modern training, digital facilities, security and professional autonomy so that they could continue to report factually and effectively without any pressure.
