LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Apr, 2026) A special court has convicted a man involved in human smuggling and visa fraud in four separate cases registered by the Federal Investigation Agency Anti-Human Trafficking Circle.
Special Court (Central-II ) Judge Shahid Bashir announced the verdict after completing hearings in all four cases and sentenced accused Zulqarnain Asad to rigorous imprisonment along with heavy fines, says a verdict issued here on Tuesday.
In case No. 177/2023 registered by AHTC FIA Lahore, the court awarded the accused 15 years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs1.7 million.
In case No. 269/2023, the accused was sentenced to 15 years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs1 million, while in case No.
240/2023 he received another 15-year rigorous imprisonment term and Rs1 million fine.
In case No. 244/2023, the court handed down 15 years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs1.2 million.
A written order has also been issued to the jail superintendent for execution of the sentences.
According to FIA officials, the conviction was secured on the basis of strong evidence collected during investigation and effective follow-up by the agency’s legal team. The court accepted the prosecution’s evidence and ordered immediate implementation of the judgment.
