ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) The Islamabad district administration has started early measures to prevent dengue, with assistant commissioners conducting inspections in different areas and launching anti-dengue spray.

Officials have also urged residents to follow safety steps to reduce the risk of the disease.

According to the administration, teams led by assistant commissioners are visiting multiple areas to check for dengue larvae at homes, construction sites, and public spaces. These inspections aim to identify stagnant water where mosquitoes can breed and to ensure timely action.

Alongside inspections, anti-dengue spray has been started in selected areas. The spray is being used to control mosquito populations and limit the spread of dengue. Officials said the campaign will continue in phases, covering more locations in the coming days.

The district administration has called on citizens to cooperate with field teams during inspections and spray activities. Residents have been advised to keep their surroundings clean, remove standing water from containers, rooftops, and open spaces, and cover water storage areas.

Health officials said prevention at the community level plays a key role in controlling dengue. They have asked people to adopt basic safety steps, including proper waste disposal and regular cleaning of homes and workplaces.

The administration said monitoring will continue and further actions will be taken based on field reports. Citizens have been encouraged to remain alert and follow all advised measures to help reduce the spread of dengue in the city.
