ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2026) Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police arrested 109 accused during the past seven days under the ongoing “Weapon-Free Islamabad” and “Nasha Ab Nahi” campaigns, recovering a large cache of illegal weapons and narcotics.
An official told APP on Sunday that 72 accused involved in illegal possession and display of weapons were arrested during targeted operations across the Federal capital.
He said police recovered two Kalashnikovs, five guns, one rifle, 59 pistols, three daggers and a large quantity of ammunition from their possession.
The official said 37 drug peddlers were also arrested during the week-long crackdown.
He said police recovered more than seven kilograms of ice (crystal meth), over four kilograms of hashish, more than two kilograms of heroin and 145 bottles of liquor from the accused.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The official said the “Weapon-Free Islamabad” and “Nasha Ab Nahi” campaigns were continuing on the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.
He said Islamabad Police had adopted a zero-tolerance policy against illegal weapons, aerial firing, display of arms and drug trafficking, while special police teams were carrying out targeted operations against criminal elements.
The official said Islamabad Police would continue effective action to protect the lives and property of citizens and eliminate crime from the federal capital.
