ICT Police detain 24 suspects in capital-wide search, drugs seized

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police conducted large-scale joint combing operations across multiple areas of the Federal capital, detaining 24 suspicious individuals and recovering drugs during the crackdown.

An official told APP on Monday that the operations were carried out in the jurisdictions of Kirpa, Shalimar, Aabpara, Tarnol, Bhara Kahu, Sabzi Mandi and Khanna police stations under the supervision of zonal SPs.

He said lady police officials also participated in the operations to ensure effective checking.

The official said during the operations, 475 individuals and 191 households were checked.

He said 30 hotels and 99 shops were also inspected.

The official said 227 motorcycles and 76 vehicles were examined.

He said the suspects along with 31 motorcycles were shifted to relevant police stations for further verification.

The official said police also arrested drug peddlers and recovered 540 grams of heroin and 33 grams of ice from their possession.

He said special checkpoints had been established at entry and exit points of the city for effective monitoring.

All patrolling units and special squads remained active across the city, he added.

Senior officers remained present in the field to review security arrangements.

The official urged citizens to cooperate with police during checking and report any suspicious activity immediately./APP-rzr-mkz
