ICT Police intensify security with grand combing operations, 27 suspects held including one Afghan

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Apr, 2026) Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police enhanced security across the Federal capital and launched large-scale grand combing and search operations in various areas on the directives of IGP Islamabad.

An official told APP on Sunday that the operations were conducted in the jurisdictions of Khanna, Shahzad Town, Noon, Sangjani, and Koral police stations under the supervision of zonal SPs. He said lady police officials also participated in the operations to ensure effective checking. During the operations, a total of 599 individuals and 288 households were checked.

The official said 73 shops and three hotels were also inspected during the search. He said 219 motorcycles and 81 vehicles were examined during the drive.

The official said 27 suspicious individuals, including one Afghan national, along with 14 motorcycles were shifted to relevant police stations for further verification.

He said that special checking points had been established at entry and exit routes of the city to ensure effective monitoring. All patrolling units and special squads were actively performing duties across the city, he said and added, senior officers remained present in the field, reviewing security arrangements and ensuring implementation of measures.

The official urged the citizens to cooperate with police during checking and report any suspicious activity immediately.
