ICT Police net inter-provincial dacoit gang in Islamabad, four held

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police arrested four members of an inter-provincial dacoit gang during a major operation conducted by Phulgran Police in the Federal capital.

An official told APP on Thursday that the arrested gang members were wanted by Islamabad and Punjab Police in dozens of cases related to robbery, street crime and other serious offences.

He said police recovered motorcycles and expensive mobile phones worth hundreds of thousands of rupees that had been snatched from the jurisdictions of Phulgran and Bhara Kahu police stations.

The official said weapons along with ammunition used in criminal activities were also recovered from the possession of the arrested accused.

During initial investigation, the accused confessed to involvement in incidents of murder, petrol pump robbery, shop robbery and armed street crimes in the areas of Phulgran and Bhara Kahu, he added.

DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq said Islamabad Police was carrying out large-scale operations against organized and active criminal gangs across the federal capital.

He reiterated that protection of citizens’ lives and property remained the top priority of Islamabad Police.
