Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem distributed certificates among students at the closing ceremony of the 12th and 13th batches of the Punjab Police Internship Programme held at the Central Police Office (CPO) here on Tuesday
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem distributed certificates among students at the closing ceremony of the 12th and 13th batches of the Punjab Police Internship Programme held at the Central Police Office (CPO) here on Tuesday.
Addressing the ceremony, the IGP said that the experience gained during the internship would play a vital role in students' professional development. He added that Punjab Police are strengthening its linkages with educational institutions to promote research and academic collaboration.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, 65 students, including 35 from the University of the Punjab and 30 from Lahore Garrison University, participated in the programme. The students underwent six weeks of practical training in various wings of Punjab Police.
They were attached to different departments including CTD, Safe Cities Authority, Operations, Investigation, RMP, PHP, SPU, Traffic and IT, where they gained hands-on experience and submitted reports based on their learning.
The spokesperson said that Punjab Police have so far provided internship opportunities to 463 students from different educational institutions.
Souvenirs and commemorative shields were also exchanged between Punjab Police and representatives of participating institutions at the end of the ceremony.
Additional IG Training Khurram Shakoor, DIG Training Munir Ahmad Zia Rao, and other senior officers attended the ceremony, along with academicians from various institutions.
