ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday removed objections raised by the registrar's office on a petition seeking facilitation for obtaining signatures on legal documents from the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), while directing the petitioner's counsel to be assisted in light of the jail manual.
A single bench of Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro heard the constitutional petition filed by advocate Khaled Yousaf Chaudhry, who appeared before the court in person.
During the proceedings, the court inquired about objections raised on the petition.
At this, Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry submitted that he was restricting his request to obtaining signatures on a power of attorney.
The court proceeded to remove the objections and directed the lawyer to be provided assistance in accordance with the jail manual. The bench then adjourned further hearing of the case until May 11.
The development pertains to the legal facilitation sought for the PTI founder, who is currently incarcerated, to sign necessary legal documents.
