LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Apr, 2026) The district administration has intensified its crackdown against illegal constructions,
demolishing multiple structures, partially razing around 50 shops and sealing buildings
in various parts of the city.
On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ali Ijaz, the operation, led by the MCL Planning
Wing, was conducted on the basis of surveys and complaints received through social media,
targeting areas including Wagah, Shalimar, Data Ganj Bakhsh, Shahdara and Begum Kot.
Major enforcement activities were carried out on Haq Nawaz Road, Kala Khatai Road,
Shahdara 82-Feet Road and Misri Shah.
During the drive, around 50 shops were partially demolished on Haq Nawaz Road,
while two residential units were sealed in Majeed Park, Shahdara. An illegal building
was also sealed on 82-Feet Road in Shahdara.
In addition, several unauthorized
constructions were demolished in Saeed Park, Begum Kot and Yousaf Park, while
multiple shops were razed in the areas of Kala Khatai Morr and Kala Khatai Road.
The DC said a zero-tolerance policy was being enforced against illegal constructions,
with strict compliance of building regulations to ensure public safety. Officers were
directed to identify violations across all zones and complete necessary safety
measures prior to demolition operations.
Deputy Commissioner Ali Ijaz said that coordinated enforcement would continue
across the city in the public interest, adding that the administration was committed
to ensuring citizens’ safety and upholding the rule of law through sustained operations.
