Injured cop of Charsadda terror attack succumbs to injuries

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) A police constable injured in a bomb attack by terrorists on Aziz Abad police checkpost in Charsadda embraced martyrdom during treatment, police said on Thursday.

According to Charsadda Police, Constable Sajjad Khan had sustained critical injuries when unidentified terrorists targeted Aziz Abad checkpost with explosive material on April 22.

He was shifted to hospital for medical treatment immediately after the attack but could not survive his wounds and was martyred in the line of duty.

The funeral prayer of the martyred constable was offered with full official honours at Police Lines Charsadda. A large number of police officers, personnel, relatives of the martyr and local residents attended the funeral.

District Police Officer Charsadda Muhammad Waqas Khan, SP Investigation Alamzeb Khan, DSP Headquarters Anwar Khan, DSP CTD Jamshed Khan, SDPOs, SHOs and other officials participated in the ceremony.

A smartly turned-out police contingent presented salute to the martyr, while floral wreaths were laid on the coffin followed by Fateha.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Muhammad Waqas Khan paid tribute to the sacrifice of the martyred constable and said the sacrifices rendered by Charsadda Police personnel were a valuable asset for the nation.

He said the police force had always played a frontline role in the fight against terrorism and the sacrifices of martyrs would not go in vain.

He further said that the bravery, devotion to duty and sacrifice of Constable Sajjad Khan would always be remembered.

The DPO prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and patience for the bereaved family, while reaffirming the resolve of Charsadda Police to continue efforts for lasting peace and elimination of terrorism.
