BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jun, 2026) The first international workshop on Climate Modelling successfully hosted by the Islamia University
of Bahawalpur jointly supported by the Punjab Higher education Commission and the International APN Research Project leads by Small Earth Nepal.
According to an official press release issued here, the event received more than 127 participant’s registrations. Around 50 participants attended in person physical mode whiles others joined online, across Pakistan and globally. The event was presided over by Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
The technical sessions featured a distinguished lineup of national and international speakers. Zeba Gul, an official and researcher of Urban Planning and Policy Unit, Khaber Pakhtunkhwa presented Pakistan's climate and climate change, and led intensive hands-on training sessions on climate modelling tools and datasets.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Speeches were delivered by scientists and researchres from different universities and institutions including Dr Dhiraj Pradhananga, Project Lead of the International APN Project, Nepal, Prof. Mirza Hasanuzzaman, Collaborator from Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Bangladesh, and Prof. Dr. Nazim Hussain, Dean & Principal Investigator of the Punjab Higher Education Commission R&D Cluster on Climate Change.
The workshop was held under a collaborative project partnership between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan through the Punjab Higher Education Commission R&D Cluster on Climate Change, a flagship initiative uniting Punjab’s leading universities to advance climate research and The APN international Research Project leads by Small Earth Nepal
Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur awarded certificates to the participants.
