During which both sides held detailed discussions on maritime connectivity, trade cooperation, and new investment opportunities between Pakistan and Morocco.
During the meeting, both parties agreed to promote potential maritime and trade linkages between Gwadar Port (Pakistan) and Tanger Med Port (Morocco). These two ports hold strategic importance in their respective regions and can play a key role in facilitating trade across Asia, Europe, and Africa.
Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar stated that international partnerships are essential to transform Gwadar Port into a major regional trade hub.
He emphasized that cooperation with Morocco would not only enhance bilateral trade but also provide Central Asian countries easier access to European and African markets.
He further briefed the Moroccan Ambassador on the vast investment opportunities available in Balochistan, highlighting that the province holds significant geographic importance and offers strong potential in sectors such as energy, minerals, port development, logistics, and infrastructure, which Moroccan investors could benefit from.
Ambassador Mohamed Karmoune expressed keen interest in further strengthening economic and trade relations with Pakistan.
He underscored the global significance of Tanger Med Port as a major trade gateway between Europe and Africa and noted that its connectivity with Gwadar Port could lay the foundation for a new economic corridor.
