In her messag on Iqbal day she said, the 'poet of the East' infused a spirit of selfhood, awakening and freedom among the Muslims of the subcontinent through his profound philosophy and vision.

She said Iqbal’s thoughts continue to serve as a vital source of educational, intellectual and national guidance, particularly for the youth.

She urged young people to adopt knowledge, character and self-confidence as guiding principles and play their role in the development of the country.

The government was striving to introduce reforms in the education sector to familiarize students with Iqbal’s philosophy and to help nurture responsible and confident citizens, she added.

She reiterated the commitment to promote Iqbal’s concept of selfhood and the ideology of Pakistan for building a strong, stable and prosperous nation.
