Iranian delegation arrives in Islamabad for talks; Pakistan hopeful of ‘constructive engagement’

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Apr, 2026) A high-powered delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran led by Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf along with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad late Friday to participate in the Islamabad Talks, the Foreign Office said.

The Iranian delegation was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Chief of Defence Forces & Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.

DPM Dar expressed the hope that parties would engage constructively, and reiterated Pakistan’s desire to continue facilitating the parties towards reaching lasting and durable solution to the conflict, the FO said in a statement.
